(ORDO NEWS) — Stuttgart-based hydrogen aviation specialist H2FLY has announced that it has lifted its HY4 aircraft to a height of 2,203 meters, which is now a new world record for hydrogen-electric flight.
H2FLY demonstrated its HY4 aircraft to the public for the first time at the AERO Friedrichshafen air show in April.
This is a four-seat aircraft powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, in which hydrogen reacts with oxygen and is converted into electricity and water.
Thus, the only emission is water, which is harmless compared to conventional aviation engine emissions.
