US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The North Atlantic Alliance claims that the Belgian Air Force fighter hijacked a Russian Air Force aircraft over the Baltic Sea. Allegedly, the Russian did not comply with international security standards: he flew too close to the airspace of the NATO country.
The incident occurred on March 26, but the military bloc circulated the message only now.
NATO claims this is the third such incident in a few days. Russian aircraft began to appear after intelligence of the North Atlantic Alliance spotted 7 warships of the Russian Navy in the North Sea.
Usually, according to NATO, Russian groups go through the English Channel to the Mediterranean Sea. But this detachment has remained in place for several days.
However, NATO scouts 34 times were seen at the borders of Russia. Only on March 27 near the Kaliningrad region and the Crimea flew 4 aircraft of the US and UK air forces.
