(ORDO NEWS) — NASA reported that the agency has assembled a group of 16 experts to investigate reports of unknown aerial phenomena, which are still called UFOs (although the abbreviation was changed for good reason to avoid misunderstandings in the interpretation).
Very soon, experts will begin a nine-month independent study.
Who joined the team “UFO catchers”
Experts gathered include retired astronaut Scott Kelly, who spent 520 days in orbit on four separate missions, as well as a science journalist, ocean biologist, CEO of a space technology company and head of the US Federal Aviation Administration.
This brings NASA one step closer to fulfilling its promise to study public cases of unexplained UFO sightings, including mysterious encounters made by US Navy pilots .
Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the core of who we are at NASA.
Understanding the data we have about unknown aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what’s going on in our skies, Thomas Zurbuchen, assistant administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, said in a statement.
How NASA’s dedicated team will work
The newly created team has a gigantic task ahead of them, given the sheer amount of data available. The team will determine how data collected by civilian government agencies, commercial data and data from other sources can be analyzed to shed light on these developments.
It will then recommend a roadmap for potential future NJI data analysis by the agency. This is an obvious first step in putting NASA’s best minds to work on finding out what’s behind these meetings.
Why is there so much UFO news lately?
Earlier, the US Department of Defense confirmed the authenticity of the 2019 images and videos, which recorded the UFO.
The intelligence of the United States until June 2021 promised to prepare a report on this matter. In the end, it turned out that no traces of extraterrestrial life were found among the recorded obscure phenomena and objects.
- In April 2020, the Pentagon authenticated at least 3 UFO videos, and subsequently 8 more.
- In January 2021, the Central Intelligence Agency declassified some of the data related to the study of UFOs. And Donald Trump, at the end of his presidency, ordered national intelligence to prepare a report on “unidentified flying objects.”
- In May 2022, UFO court hearings were held in the United States for the first time in 50 years.
The excitement around the Pentagon declassified UFO data is related to the request of researcher John Greenwald, who is a supporter of the theory of visiting the Earth by extraterrestrial life forms.
For 25 years he tried to extract information about UFOs from the CIA . As it turned out, these materials testify only to unidentified natural phenomena, a significant number of which were eventually studied in detail, and the objects were accurately identified.
At the same time, NASA is trying to destigmatize the UFO phenomenon and explain what is actually hidden behind the statements about aliens, because the vast majority of previously incomprehensible events were subsequently described and explained in detail, and phenomena that could be confidently attributed to the consequences of the life of extraterrestrial civilizations still.
