US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The US Space Agency (NASA) on Wednesday urged its employees to work from home after two employees tested positive for coronavirus.
“NASA leadership has decided to set up all centers and facilities in Phase 3 of the NASA Response Framework. All employees and contractors will be transferred to mandatory telecommunications until further notice,” the NASA administrator said.
This expected decision came shortly after the Ames Research Center in California and the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama were designated Phase 3 when two employees at the said facilities proved positive to Covid-19.
The final phase of the NASA Response Framework is Phase 4. A Phase 4 facility will be closed with some exceptional cases and all trips will be suspended.
In the US, the death toll from the new coronavirus has climbed to 150, with a total of 9,400 confirmed cases, said Johns Hopkins University in Maryland.
