NASA can land a man on the moon without the Gateway orbital station

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The lunar orbital station Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway is one of the tools that will allow you to return a person to a satellite of the Earth. At the same time, NASA does not want to depend on it and are considering the option of landing on the lunar surface without using a station.

As said the head of the department of human research NASA Loverro Doug space agency wants to secure a future landing man on the moon from the possible risks associated with the prospective station Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway.

Thus, it will cease to be a critical element for the implementation of the Artemis program, which includes flights to the moon and a satellite landing around 2024.

At the same time, NASA does not refuse Gateway per se. Moreover, the space agency recently selected the first two instruments that the orbital station will receive. One of them will analyze space weather, and the second is designed to answer questions related to radiation in the orbit of the moon.
