(ORDO NEWS) — The network has information about an unusual alliance, which will include the largest browser developers: Google, Microsoft, Apple, Mozilla Foundation and others.
It is reported that by joint efforts, the IT giants intend to overcome the main “pain points” for developers, which prevented users from getting the best experience on all platforms.
This is planned to be done thanks to the latest benchmark for browsers – Interop 2022. At the same time, the main market players have been discussing this initiative in recent years – since 2019.
At the moment, it is planned that the benchmark will pay attention to 15 “problem” areas for browsers. It is already clear that if the tech giants succeed in achieving their goals, then their browsers will provide a similar work of browsers in these areas.
It is known that we are talking about, for example, CSS Cascade Layers, color rendering, the scrolling process, form management, etc.
