
Mount Merapi erupts in Indonesia

(ORDO NEWS) — The eruption of the Merapi volcano occurred on the island of Java, as a result of which lava flows spread to a distance of 1.5 km from the crater.
The danger level has been raised to the third of four levels according to the classification of eruption adopted in Indonesia.
Residents of nearby areas are prohibited from approaching Merapi at a distance of less than 7 km. Information about the victims and destruction is not given.
There are almost 130 volcanoes in Indonesia. Merapi with a height of 2910 m is considered one of the most active.
