(ORDO NEWS) — One careless move, and expensive plasma with a diagonal of more than a meter turns into a pile of scrap metal. Surely the owner now curses the day when he decided to buy such a huge screen.
After all, the more equipment, the more difficult it is to transport it. Yes, and finding a place in the apartment for a TV that will turn your home into a cinema is not so easy.
The solution was found by engineers from South Korea. They figured out how to fit a TV with a diagonal of up to seven meters into a small box.
This screen can be disassembled into fragments, and then mounted on the wall in any order. What do the most unusual TVs in the world look like? Who invented the invisible screen? And why do the Japanese taste TV?
South Korean engineers keep their technology a closely guarded secret. But the price for a miracle TV has already been named. For the novelty will have to pay half a million dollars.
At this cost, the possibility of breaking an ordinary TV is no longer so scary. But how to place it in the apartment so that it does not an eyesore with a huge black screen when it is turned off?
“The TV consists of LED panels with a resolution of up to 10K. You can change the screen size and even its shape to your liking.
Whatever the shape of the screen, it will still broadcast the picture,” said an employee of a manufacturer of household appliances, audio – and video devices Chris Ault.
China invented the invisible TV. The secret is in the transparent pixels of the matrix, which alternate with the usual ones. And the engineers simply hid the microcircuits and wires in a stand.
“This is such a cool wow effect. It can be used in a fun way, for example, in a mirror or in some kind of embedded technology.
Like in science fiction films: in the morning you go to the mirror and you see the weather and your tasks for the day there “, – says Yegor Efremov, a researcher at the Museum of Cryptography.
It is necessary to turn on the TV, as the image appears. True, the focus will work only in the dark or at dusk.
In the light of day on such a screen you will have to watch an invisible film – the image will become barely noticeable. And you can only do this at home.
But what if you are planning to pass the time on the road watching the series, and you are not at all satisfied with the tiny screen of your smartphone?
“It’s incredible! I just put on my glasses and a screen appears in front of my eyes!” – exclaims blogger, reviewer of gadgets and home appliances Ben Sin.
These smart glasses can replace 140-inch plasma. They project an image from the screen of your laptop or phone onto the glass. They even support 3D mode. True, a miniature gadget is easy to lose or crush.
American engineers came up with a holographic TV. You can watch movies in 3D on it without glasses. The image becomes three-dimensional due to a series of projections of different depths.
The screen works on the same principle as the holographic postcards that were popular in the late 80s. Only there are much more overlapping images on TV.
“The matrix is capable of generating up to 100 different views of an object, each with up to 100 million points that are updated 60 times per second,” said Sean Frain, CEO of a 3D holographic display manufacturer.
But that’s not all. The developers have built special sensors into the TV that allow you to become a participant in what is happening on the screen. The technology is impressive.
It seems to have only one drawback: the holographic TV can only play movies and games that are shot in 3D. To watch old movies, you will have to buy a second TV.
In Japan, they invented a TV that transmits smells and even tastes. To take a sample, you need to lick the screen, which shows something edible.
“The secret to creating flavor on screen is in ten small containers of flavors that, depending on the plot of the TV show, spray the liquid at the same time in the right combination,” said Meiji University professor Homei Miyashita.
The idea of licking the dust off the screen is, to put it mildly, an amateur. In addition, the innovative TV can only be installed horizontally. In this position, it is unlikely that you will be able to watch something longer than a pizza commercial.
