(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists from the Sapienza University of Rome found products in Ethiopia that were made from volcanic glass more than 1.2 million years ago.
In total, archaeologists had at their disposal 575 objects made of obsidian, located in the valley of the Awash River.
Including, stone axes were found, presumably used for cutting, scraping, butchering and digging.
It is assumed that the adaptations were created by representatives of the species Homo erectus.
