Monkeys transplant pig liver

(ORDO NEWS) — Doctors at the Chinese Air Force University (Xijing Hospital) conducted a scientific experiment. They transplanted pig organs into three monkeys.

The results of the operation are reported by the Daily Mail.

It is known that the manipulation began simultaneously, on June 13. Macaques, who got a heart and a kidney, soon died.

The monkey with the pig’s liver has been alive for more than two weeks. Chinese experts claim that this is the longest life span of an animal with an organ transplanted from another species.
