MIT scientists team up with Samsung to create a camera that lets you see through walls

(ORDO NEWS) — The researchers note that modern terahertz sensors are too bulky, expensive, and also work only at cryogenic temperatures.

The new prototype is capable of operating in a normal room and base pressure. This is possible thanks to the technology of quantum dots used in the creation of displays and TVs from Samsung.

This means that in the future there will be compact scanning devices that can literally “see through walls.” In addition, their cost will be quite budgetary relative to existing terahertz cameras.

According to scientists, such a development will open up new opportunities for mankind in the field of security, control in production and other industries.
