Microsoft forced Windows 10 users to pay money
(ORDO NEWS) — Microsoft mistakenly added ads to Windows 10 that can’t be closed. It is reported by the Windows Latest edition.
Portal journalists noticed an advertising banner with which Microsoft promoted Microsoft 365.
Advertising may appear when setting up Windows 10 – within its framework, the company offers to issue a paid subscription to services.
Users have noticed that the banner is impossible to miss – when you click on the “No, thanks” button, a window for entering bank card data appears.
According to journalists, the corporation actually forced its users to pay money.
An anonymous source at Microsoft said that the engineers made a mistake: the advertising banner should have two buttons – “Try it for free” and “No thanks”, but clicking on any of them opens a payment form.
Apparently, Microsoft will fix the bug in the near future. To get rid of the banner, journalists recommended that users temporarily disconnect Windows from the Internet.
Previously, Windows 10 license holders noticed that an advertisement appeared in the OS offering to upgrade to Windows 11.
At the same time, the advertising banner cannot be closed – you can only postpone its appearance for a while.
