Man married his wife twice due to Alzheimer’s

(ORDO NEWS) — Peter Marshall from America, at the age of 53, was diagnosed with a not entirely comforting diagnosis – Alzheimer’s disease. Pathology gradually destroys memory and a person begins to forget some moments from his life. After some time, Peter forgot his wife Lisa, but then fell in love with her again and married a second time.

Reported by CNN.

Peter and Lisa met over 20 years ago. At the time of their acquaintance, they had families and therefore just talked. A couple of years later, they met again by chance and found out that both were getting divorced. As a result, the couple began a long-distance romance that lasted 8 years.

After the children grew up, Lisa nevertheless moved to live in Connecticut in 2009 and became Peter’s wife. After a while, the man began to forget the usual things, then also the words. As a result, it became difficult for Peter to speak long sentences. Lisa blamed everything on old age, but in 2018 a completely different diagnosis was made – Alzheimer’s disease.

Peter’s memories gradually faded. He began to consider Lisa an outsider woman. She continued to live with him, although she became a stranger to him. At the end of 2020, while watching the series, Peter unexpectedly asked Lisa to get married. The woman says that at that moment she felt the most real happiness, because her husband fell in love with her twice. The second wedding took place on April 26. The ceremony was conducted by a dementia specialist. It was he who helped Peter say the words of the oath to Lisa.

Today, a woman is actively developing her blog in which she tells how to live with a man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. In it, she describes in detail all the changes that are taking place with Peter. He developed hallucinations, developed paranoia, and began to have regular blackouts.
