Man hacked airline website and flew for free

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — A man hacked into the Brussels Airlines website and flew business class for free. According to Independent , a 25-year-old passenger was able to fly to New York three times without paying for tickets.

According to the publication, a man bought tickets, and then canceled them. But at the same time manipulating the URL so that the reservation is valid, although the funds were returned to his account.

Now the airline demands compensation from the violator in the amount of 20 thousand euros. This amount includes the cost of three tickets to New York in business class (each for 6 thousand euros) plus compensation for the fact that the company had to change the security system.

The hacker’s lawyer does not agree with this amount. In his opinion, the client should not pay the airline funds for improving the security system, as he showed them its imperfection by his actions. The court will decide on the case on March 30.

This is not the first case of fraud by passengers in order to receive any benefits during the flight. So in November 2019, at a Delhi airport, they caught a man posing as a pilot.

The man changed into the uniform of an Lufthansa airline employee and used a fake pilot ID, which he received during the filming of the film in Bangkok, and thus went off the line without landing.
