(ORDO NEWS) — Nzambi Mati, a 30-year-old Kenyan engineer, has come up with a promising way to recycle plastic waste into bricks and paving stones by pressing with the addition of sand.
Nzambi Mati owns Gjenge Makers, a Nairobi-based company that manufactures various types of pavers that are already being used to pave and clad sidewalks and driveways.
The startup recycles tons of plastic into environmentally friendly (well, almost!) bricks that are stronger, cheaper and lighter than concrete.
