(ORDO NEWS) — NASA has released a stunning infrared image of Jupiter’s moon Io from 80,000 kilometers away, showing lava flows and lakes glowing brightly on its surface.
The published image of the Juno probe was made in early July 2022.
There are hundreds of volcanoes on Io, interestingly, most of the volcanic spots are located in the polar region of the planet, and not in the equatorial region.
NASA also announced that the Juno spacecraft took another set of images of Io on December 15, which will be published soon.
