55-year-old Johnson found coronavirus pneumonia on March 26. He self-isolated at his residence, continuing to lead the country, however, on April 5, he was transferred to a London hospital for analysis, since he had had a fever for more than 10 days.
On the evening of April 6, his condition worsened, and he was transferred to the intensive care unit.
It was reported that the politician received standard treatment with oxygen and continued to be in the intensive care unit so that doctors had the opportunity to closely monitor his condition. It was noted that he did not require either mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.
