US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Japanese stocks declined on Monday amid fears of Tokyo’s possible isolation, as the coronavirus epidemic worsened over the weekend and more countries imposed or tightened restrictions.
The Nikkei index lost 1.6% to 19.084.97 points, while the broader Topix index shed 1.6% to 1.435.54 points.
The number of people infected with the new coronavirus worldwide has grown to 662,700, the number of victims has increased to 30,751, according to Reuters.
