James Webb telescope captures the Einstein ring

(ORDO NEWS) — The latest James Webb Space Telescope has taken an image of the galaxy SPT-S J041839-4751.8 at a distance of 12 billion light-years from Earth, which shows the perfect “Einstein ring”.

The circular structure seen in the image is called the “Einstein Ring”. In fact, this is a kind of optical illusion and the galaxy does not have any circle – it’s just that the light from the object behind it is bent by the gravitational field.
