James Webb captured the collision of galaxies

(ORDO NEWS) — NASA has shared a stunning new image taken by the James Webb Space Telescope. The image shows a pair of colliding galaxies known as IC 1623.

Space object IC 1623 is located at a distance of 270 million light years from Earth towards the constellation Cetus.

The galaxies have actually already merged with each other, which led to the destruction of their forms and a powerful burst of star formation.

IC 1623 has been observed many times by various telescopes, but their work was seriously hampered by a strip of dust hiding the galactic center.

Thanks to the ability of the newest telescope to observe in the near and medium waves of the infrared range, James Webb was able to solve this problem.
