US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The number of deaths from coronavirus-induced disease and its complications in Italy per day increased by 525 and reached 15,887. The number of deaths per day was the lowest in two weeks, the Italian Civil Protection Department said on Sunday, ANSA reports.
“Given today’s data on the victims, whose number was 525, we recorded the lowest death toll since March 19,” department head Angelo Borrelli told reporters.
According to the agency, the total number of cases of infection in Italy was 128,948. On Saturday, 124,632 cases of infection were reported. During the day, 819 people recovered, the total number of recovered reached 21,815.
An outbreak caused by a coronavirus disease was recorded at the end of 2019 in Central China, later spreading to most countries of the world and was recognized by the World Health Organization as a pandemic.
