(ORDO NEWS) — The European Space Agency (ESA) has published a map showing light pollution in Europe. The map was created on the basis of photographs taken by astronauts from the ISS.
In recent years, European cities have switched to LED lighting to cut energy consumption and lower costs.
However, “cheap” electricity has led the authorities to install more flashlights, and this has significantly increased the degree of light pollution, as seen in the pictures released by the astronauts.
