US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched an air and ground attack on military positions and infrastructure of the Islamic movement Hamas on Friday evening in response to the launch of a rocket from the Gaza Strip through Israeli territory.

“In response to a missile strike from Gaza tonight toward Israeli territory, IDF aircraft and tanks attacked the military positions and infrastructure used for the activities of the Hamas terrorist organization, carried out underground, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip,” the statement said army press service.

In the evening of March 28, the IDF informed that Palestinian radicals from the Gaza Strip had launched a rocket through Israeli territory. It was also reported that air-raid sirens were triggered in the area of ​​the city of Sderot, located in close proximity to the Palestinian coastal enclave.
