Iranian representative in OPEC fell into a coma

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The Iranian representative in OPEC, Hossein Kazempour Ardebili, had a brain hemorrhage. The official fell into a coma, the Ministry of Oil of the Islamic Republic reported May 3.

The department’s message on Twitter noted that Ardebili was hospitalized as early as Friday, May 1.

Ardabili has been Iran’s representative in OPEC since the 1990s. Previously, he served as deputy foreign minister and deputy oil minister.
