US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — On Friday, May 15, at the ceremony of presenting the new flag of the US Space Forces, President Donald Trump announced the development of a “super-duper rocket”, the speed of which will be 17 times the speed of the missiles currently available on the market.

“Right now we are creating incredible military equipment of a level that no one has seen before. We have no choice, we have to do it, given the opponents that we have,” Trump said during the ceremony of presenting the new flag of the US Space Forces.

“I call it a super-duper rocket, and recently I heard that it is 17 times faster than those rockets that exist right now. If we take the fastest missile that we now have, then, according to rumors, Russia has missiles five times faster, and China is working on missiles five or six times faster. But with us it’s 17 times faster,” he said.

US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, who was next to the president, nodded in agreement as Trump spoke. The president added that the project to create such a rocket had just received a green light, and then he turned to one of the three generals who were also present at the ceremony.

“17 times faster – can you believe it, General?” This is a lot, right? 17 times faster than the missiles we have now. This rocket is the fastest in the world, three times faster than everyone else.”

In response to questions from reporters, Pentagon officials advised the White House to seek clarification. During a press conference, White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said she has so far failed to provide any details regarding the “super-duper rocket.”

The President has shown particular interest in the US Space Force since its inception. In January, that is, even before the coronavirus epidemic swept the United States, he tweeted a new logo for the Space Forces, calling them “the sixth kind of our magnificent army.”

Although US Space Forces regularly become the target of various kinds of skits, including the new series with Steve Carell on the Netflix channel, their budget looks quite impressive.

The US Air Force has already allocated $ 15.4 billion to the Space Forces, and it is expected that over the next five years their budget will increase by another $ 2.6 billion, and most of the funds will be spent on the purchase of secret space systems.
