(ORDO NEWS) — Today, many countries around the world are closely watching the use of Geran-2 kamikaze drones by Russia during the hostilities in Ukraine, and defense corporations are trying not to miss any innovations in the development of this armaments segment.
So, at the recently held DefExpo 2022 event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) demonstrated its prototype ASL 50 kamikaze drone.
The ASL 50 drone is equipped with a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) system. According to the specification, its maximum takeoff weight is 135 kilograms.
This fixed-wing hybrid quadcopter drone can continuously fly for 6 hours.
The maximum speed of the ASL 50 is set at 190 kilometers per hour. If we talk about warheads, then it can carry a payload of up to 23 kilograms.
