(ORDO NEWS) — A boat swept into the ocean by a tsunami after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake was found near Hatijima Island in the Pacific Ocean, NHK reported.
A fishing vessel carried off to sea from the port of Kesennuma in Miyagi Prefecture. For ten years that it was carried in the ocean, the bottom and sides were overgrown with shells. The boat nailed to the west coast of Hatijoujima, 650 kilometers from the prefecture.
By the surviving number, it was possible to determine the port of her registration. The man who found the boat said that it was half-submerged, but did not capsize. The Japanese pulled the ship ashore. Upon learning how it got to the island, the man was very surprised.
