(ORDO NEWS) — At the heart of this idea is a technology that, through a biochemical reaction, determines the importance of the use of certain consumer products.
“This technology is mainly used in food production, but given the historical moment in which we live, I used it in masks,” explained the young inventor Viorel Bohotici, who lives in the village of Camerata Picena, in the Marche region.
He noted that his patent could be used in surgical masks.
“Whoever stands next to you will see that the other person’s mask is no longer filtered and can move further away from him,” he added.
Italian media reported that the inventor is studying electronic engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin. The idea for the innovative mask was born last year, when he was still attending Galileo Technical School.
“I read that 72 percent of people wear face masks inappropriately, for example, for more than eight hours,” he said. He presented his draft to the certification committee in the form of an essay prepared for the oral examination.
The inventor admitted that he did not expect success, but now he has already established contacts with mask manufacturers.
