In Egypt, there was information about the discovery of another Sphinx

(ORDO NEWS) — Historians and archaeologists of Egypt are outraged by the appearance of information that another statue of the Sphinx was discovered near the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Leading Egyptologists have already issued a refutation of this information. The Express.co.uk portal tells in detail about the situation.

Local media received information about the discovery of a new sphinx from Red Abdel Halim, director of public relations for the Giza pyramid area at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

He stated that he found another statue similar to the Great Sphinx. According to him, the height of the monument is 73 meters, the head reaches a height of 20.5 meters, and the forelimbs of the figure are more than 15.5 meters long.

He added that specialists from Zagazig University have already published a scientific study confirming the existence of this statue.

Zahi Hawass, Egypt’s former antiquities minister, has already refuted the claim: “It’s not true from the first to the last word.

The Sphinx is unique. It has no analogues in the world. Any talk about the discovery of other similar statues is groundless and has only one goal – to create a hype in the media.

For many years I have been in charge of the Giza pyramid area, we have worked together with Egyptian and foreign experts and archaeologists to study this area, and I can assure you that there is no other statue of the Sphinx.”

The experts also noted that scientific studies of this level should be published in relevant scientific journals, so that scientists around the world have the opportunity not only to get acquainted with them, but also, if necessary, publish an official refutation.

At the same time, there is a legend that there was once an inscription on the Great Sphinx informing that there is another similar statue. Later, this text was mysteriously erased from the monument.
