US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Huawei has announced its own voice assistant named Celia. She knows all the same things as the Google Assistant or Apple Siri: call and send messages, turn on music, schedule events on the calendar, read the weather forecast and set an alarm.
To activate a new function, you need to hold the power button for a second and say Hey Celia. The Huawei website says that so far the assistant understands only English, French and Spanish, and is available in the UK, France, Spain, Chile, Mexico and Colombia.
As Engadget notes , Celia is the international version of the Chinese assistant Xiaoyi. When it is launched in Russia, it is not specified.
Celia will be released along with EMUI 10.1 and the top three flagship smartphones announced today (Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro +). The release is scheduled for April 7th.
In addition to the assistant, the new version of the Android shell will have an improved split-screen mode, the MeeTime application for video calls and streaming from other devices (for example, action cameras), as well as the ability to transfer files and receive calls on computers (similar to the Handoff function in iOS / macOS).
