(ORDO NEWS) — New York native Joseph Forakis has unveiled a new 88-meter boat concept called the Pegasus, which features a low, straight hull, sheer prow and metallic finishes that allow the boat to almost blend in with its surroundings.
Solar panels hidden in the glass of the superstructure will be able to provide the ship with electricity, which will be used to convert sea water into hydrogen.
The fuel cells would then turn the hydrogen into electricity, which would be stored in lithium-ion batteries.
The energy can be used to power engines and onboard amenities. According to Forakis, the Pegasus will have a virtually unlimited range.
The interior, of course, is just as futuristic. The centerpiece is a tiered “Tree of Life” that extends vertically across all four decks.
The price of the superyacht has not been disclosed, but, of course, it will be designed for very wealthy people. Pegasus could be in production by 2030.
