
Haiti recorded the first death from COVID-19
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The first death after infection with a new coronavirus was recorded in Haiti. This was announced on Sunday by the Ministry of Health and Population of the Caribbean.
According to the agency, the deceased is a 55-year-old local resident who was diagnosed with diabetes before infection. Doctors have already identified 21 infections in the poorest countries of the Western Hemisphere, whose population is about 10.6 million people.
The outbreak caused by the new coronavirus disease was recorded at the end of 2019 in Central China, spread to most countries of the world and was recognized as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11.
According to the latest data, over 1.1 million people have been infected in the world, more than 60 thousand deaths have been recorded.
