US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Google has planned a massive redesign of the Chrome user interface. Transformation will affect almost all browser controls, including buttons, check boxes and drop-down menus.
The purpose of the changes is to increase convenience on devices with touch screens and make the viewer interface more intuitive, the official blog said. “One of the problems with regard to style inconsistencies between native form controls, – recognize on google. – Old elements, such as those, were designed to fit the user’s operating system. And the elements that appeared on the platform quite recently were designed in such a way as to correspond to the style that was popular at that time.

They will be decorated in accordance with the principles of flat design, increase contrast, make the borders more visible, and the gradients removed. In experimental mode, the new style can already be enabled in the version of Chrome 81 – to do this, enter chrome: // flags / # form-controls-refresh in the address bar. A full redesign will reach macOS, Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS in mid-May with version 81 of Chrome, and Android later this year.
