German scientists warned of the second and third waves of coronavirus

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Humanity may face new waves of coronavirus, said the head of the Berlin Institute of Virology named after Robert Koch Lothar Wheeler.

“I proceed from this – and experts confirm that there will be a second and third wave of the spread of infection,” said Wheeler.

According to him, the German health system is ready for potential outbreaks of infection.

“We have done a lot for this. Doctors now know what to do with patients. We will have the best therapeutic agents,” said Wheeler.

The scientist added that the authorities of Germany are planning to increase the number of tests for coronavirus. Currently, more than 130 laboratories in the country can do over 140 thousand studies daily.

Earlier in Rospotrebnadzor reported that the appearance of the second wave of the spread of coronavirus is likely this fall.

Rospotrebnadzor also noted that there is a high probability that in hot weather and a lot of sunlight, the frequency of infection with the coronavirus will decline.
