Georgia discovered an “alien” insect
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — One of the residents of Georgia was very scared when she saw a strange insect. According to her, it resembled “a huge mutant dragonfly that can be seen in alien films”.
Nicole from Atlanta was walking with her dog when she saw a very strange insect. It wriggled quickly, which frightened the woman even more. When she took a closer look at the creature, it reminded her of Frankenstein, because it seemed that the insect consists of different pieces sewn together. The strange find was like a mixture of a dragonfly and a cockroach, but it was about the same size as a millipede.
After the video was posted on social networks, experts said that this was most likely a Dobson male. The creature made strange movements in order to spread its wings, said etymologist Lyle Bass.
Dobson’s fly belongs to the subfamily of insects Corydalinae. The larvae of these creatures live in streams, and adults are also most often seen next to ponds. Insects of this species are found in South Africa and America, as well as in Asia.
