(ORDO NEWS) — Some time ago, two flares were recorded on the Sun by specialists. They provoked the ejection of a huge amount of coronal mass.
This substance is a stream of billions of tons of plasma, which is located in the corona of the Star. It is worth noting that these coronal ejections will not reach our planet, but they will still affect it and humanity.
It is worth preparing for minor geomagnetic storms. The aurora borealis will also be brighter.
The first recorded outbreak was assigned to class M1, the second – to class M5.5. These flashes have an average power, but at the same time they are very strong, so their impact will be felt to some extent on our planet.
Coronal ejections provoke the release of a huge amount of plasma located directly in the solar corona. They occur as a result of solar flares.
They only need a few days to reach Earth. The next two streams were not directed in our direction, but despite this, the auroras will become much earlier, and some people will feel the influence of magnetic storms.
Due to the fact that the star began to approach the maximum of its activity, flashes on its surface occur much more often than before. It is worth noting that the solar cycle has a duration of 11 years.
During this period of time, there are serious changes in the magnetic field of the Sun, and its magnetic poles gradually change places. First, the star reaches a minimum, and then a maximum of its activity.
The solar minimum was recorded at the end of 2019, and the maximum should be expected in the summer of 2025. Soon, more and more flares will appear on the surface of the star, which will become more powerful than before.
To date, experts cannot say with certainty what level of activity the Sun will reach. It is closely monitored using special spacecraft and the Parker solar probe. Some time ago, he sent unique photos after he plunged directly into the crown of a star.
