Few months before a major earthquake, the Earth begins to “wobble”
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Some time ago, scientists conducted another study, which showed that before the largest earthquake in history there was an incomprehensible turn of the Earth’s movements.
This happened for the first time in 2010 and then in 2011. The second earthquake caused a terrible tsunami, and also provoked the complete destruction of the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Experts believe that such “fluctuations” will be able to warn in the future of an imminent major earthquake and people will have time to prepare for another disaster.
In 2011, in Japan, an earthquake claimed the lives of more than 15 thousand people. Some time before, experts noticed an incomprehensible “wobble” of land from east to west, and then vice versa. Such fluctuations occur when one of the tectonic plates of the planet falls under the other and gets stuck there.
The plate is in this position until it breaks. The result is an earthquake of incredible strength. Michael Bevis noted that such fluctuations, which were recorded in 2011 in Japan, had never been observed before.
Similar fluctuations have been studied in other countries. Experts are confident that in the future, the results of the study will repeatedly help to avoid the terrible consequences of giant earthquakes.
