(ORDO NEWS) — ETNT: GP Mitchell recommended cutting out sugar to stay young.
A therapist from the USA has named seven ways that will help you stay young and active for a long time. Her advice is published by Eat This, Not That! (ETNT).
First of all, Tommy Mitchell recommends that you stop eating excessive amounts of sugar.
“It contributes to the appearance of wrinkles and age spots, and the skin because of it becomes flabby. Sugar also increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other health problems,” explains the doctor.
Another important factor in maintaining youth is getting enough sleep. According to Mitchell, an adult needs seven to eight hours of sleep to feel well rested. With a lack of sleep, the body produces more cortisol, a stress hormone, an excessive amount of which is directly associated with premature aging.
“Physical exercise is another important factor in maintaining youth. They make you more energetic, help reduce stress, and have a positive effect on all bodily functions,” says Mitchell.
She advises drinking eight to ten glasses of pure water a day, since the correct level of fluid in the body is not only beneficial for all organs, but also has a positive effect on skin health and slows down its aging.
In your daily diet, Mitchell advises adding as many fruits and vegetables as possible, because they provide the body with antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients needed to maintain health and youthful appearance. She also recommends eating more lean meats like chicken or turkey and cutting out store-bought convenience foods.
The doctor is sure that reducing stress levels will help maintain health and youth. In order to cope with stress more easily, Mitchell advises to do more exercise and yoga.
Earlier, the leading Irish nutritionist Eva Orsmond named the product that contributes most to weight gain. In her opinion, sugary sparkling water should be excluded from the diet.
