EU to respond to Israeli annexation of Palestinian territories
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The European Union will definitely respond to the possible annexation by Israel of a number of territories of the West Bank, the EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano said.
“The EU has said many times how it sees the annexation and that it will not go unnoticed. The EU will respond,” he said at a press conference in Brussels on Monday, May 11.
Commenting on the possibility of imposing sanctions on Israel, Stano noted that EU member states are currently discussing this.
According to the plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict , presented by US President Donald Trump on January 28 and known as the “deal of the century”, Israel has the opportunity to annex the Palestinian territories in the West Bank and extend its sovereignty to the Jordan Valley.
