EU called on the US to change their minds

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, and Josep Borrell, vice president of the European Commission and European Union diplomacy, called on the United States to reconsider the decision to break off relations with the World Health Organization.

A circulated joint statement by Lajen and Borrel said the EU would continue to support the organization in the fight against the pandemic and had already provided additional funding. EU leaders believe that only global cooperation and solidarity will be the only effective way to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said he was breaking off relations with WHO . According to him, the United States “will redirect these funds to the whole world for urgent health needs.”
