Epirus will supply the US Army with prototypes of its “drone killer”

(ORDO NEWS) — Epirus has signed a $66 million contract with the US Army to develop an effective anti-drone weapon.

The defense company is committed to deliver several prototypes of high-powered Leonidas microwaves as early as 2023.

The weapon belongs to the category of electromagnetic. It works thanks to heavy-duty electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range (0.3-300 GHz).

The operator directs radiation at an object (for example, a drone), and under the influence of this radiation, the electronic “stuffing” of the drone (electronic and optical elements) simply burns out.
