Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in northern Japan

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred on the night of Saturday to Sunday in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of northern Hokkaido Prefecture, no tsunami threat was announced. This was reported by the meteorological office of Japan.

The epicenter was located next to Tokati County, and the hearth lay at a depth of 90 km under the ocean floor.

There were no reports of casualties and damage. Tremors were felt in almost all areas of Hokkaido.
