Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in southwest China

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded on Wednesday in Sichuan province in southwestern China. This was reported by the Chinese Seismological Center.

Tremors were recorded at 20:23 local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was located on the territory of the Gardze-Tibet Autonomous Okrug, the focus lay at a depth of about 10 km.

No injuries were reported about injuries or destructions in the Gardza-Tibet Autonomous Region, where about 1.2 million people live.
