(ORDO NEWS) — Asteroid 2009 PQ1, the size of which is estimated by experts from 84 to 190 meters, will approach the Earth at a minimum distance on the evening of August 5, NASA reported earlier.
As noted earlier in a conversation with RIA graduate student of the Department of the Solar System of the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INASAN) Yekaterina Efremova, the celestial body does not pose any danger to earthlings, since it will fly at a very distant distance.
Asteroid 2009 PQ1 at 19:35 Moscow time will fly four million kilometers from the Earth – seven times farther than the Moon is from us. The next time the asteroid will approach the Earth only in 2137.
