US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Scientists said that the likelihood of our planet being thrown out of the solar system is not so small anymore.
According to researchers from the Sharif University, the probability that this event will happen is 1 in 15,000. And this is not so much.
In addition, using simulation, it was found that out of 10,000 Earth-like planets, only one becomes a victim of disaster.
A professor at Stony Brook University, in turn, said that while a star is approaching the solar system, it can affect the Earth’s orbit. And at the moment of maximum rapprochement, our planet will receive a certain “gravitational leash” from a passing star.
Such an effect is practically not noticeable for the Earth, however, if such events are repeated over and over again, every year, then our planet will gradually receive enough energy that will move it away from the Sun, which, in the end, will lead to glaciation.
Meanwhile, scientists confirm the fact that the stars are constantly moving, including movement in the region of our galaxy. Each such star, which comes close to our solar system, can destabilize any of the orbits.
