(ORDO NEWS) — On Monday morning (November 7), the Antares launch vehicle launched the Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft into orbit with a payload for the International Space Station (ISS).
Despite the fact that the launch was successful, further problems began at the American spacecraft.
The Cygnus NG-18 spacecraft has deployed one of its two solar panels, according to NASA, meaning the Northrop Grumman spacecraft may have problems getting power.
Although the manufacturer Cygnus believes that the malfunction will not prevent the spacecraft from docking with the ISS.
However, the US space agency decided to play it safe, so the docking, scheduled for November 9, will be carried out by astronauts manually using the Canadarm2 robotic arm.
