Due to social benefits, the body of the deceased grandmother spent 15 years in the refrigerator
(ORDO NEWS) — A woman from Pennsylvania was accused of keeping the body of her dead grandmother in the refrigerator for 15 years. She committed such an act in order to receive additional checks for social security.
The New York Post writes that on May 27 they arrested Cynthia Black, who appropriated 186 thousand dollars for her deceased grandmother. Glenora Delahay died in 2004 when she was 97 years old.
There is no exact data on exactly how the woman died, but the police could not find any evidence indicating the violent death. From 2001 to 2010, a woman was issued special checks for social insurance. This money was credited to Black’s account.
In 2007, Cynthia Black together with Glenn Black bought a fairly spacious house, which was lost by them in 2018.
Moreover, the couple did not have the right to redeem it in the future. Because of this, they were forced to move to another city. It is worth noting that Glenn was arrested in 2018, but this arrest had nothing to do with the scheme that Cynthia came up with to get her grandmother’s money.
The body of the deceased grandmother was left in a lost house. After some time, namely in February last year, two women found him in the freezer. They bought a house that was nearby and decided to inspect the empty building, which was not in very good condition.
Cynthia Black was accused of abuse of a corpse, as well as the theft of money and the misappropriation of other people’s property on a large scale. Today there is no information about whether any charges were brought against Glenn Black or whether he will be able to avoid punishment for this terrible act.
