Dolly Parton donate a million dollars to fight coronavirus
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — American singer known as the “Queen of Country” Dolly Parton will donate a million dollars to develop a vaccine against a new type of coronavirus.
According to the singer, “her long-time friend” Dr. Naji Abumrad, who has been a researcher at the University of Vanderbilt in the USA for a long time , informed her that the scientists have achieved significant success in developing a vaccine against coronavirus.
“I will donate one million dollars (to the University) of Vanderbilt for this research and to encourage people who can afford to donate,” Parton said on her official Instagram page .
The World Health Organization on March 11 announced an outbreak of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 with a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, more than 820 thousand cases of infection have been recorded in the world, more than 40 thousand people have died.
