(ORDO NEWS) — There is no definite answer to this question. If, in asking the question of the existence of life beyond, we are guided solely by empirical data (data obtained through the senses, in particular, through observation or experiment), then the answer – as far as we know – will be negative.
We do not have objective data that would unequivocally indicate that somewhere else, besides the Earth , there is life, and even more so some kind of high-tech, capable of making contact with us.
But it is worth considering the fact that our knowledge on this issue is still very limited; we haven’t explored every corner of the universe for signs of life, and we don’t even know what life might be like that could have originated in another chemical system.
One of the main difficulties in finding hypothetical extraterrestrial life is that we don’t have an agreed definition of carbon-based life, even here on Earth.
So, perhaps a more detailed answer to the question of the existence of aliens is that we do not know.
It is possible that we will never be able to give a definitive answer, but we will undoubtedly continue to work in this direction in order to try to understand such an interesting issue.
Perhaps one day we will find out that we have always had interplanetary neighbors, or maybe we will find out that we are alone in the whole Universe… As Arthur Clarke said: “We are either alone in the Universe or not. Any of these thoughts are scary.”
