Diamond Princess liner leaves Japan for Malaysia
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The liner Diamond Princess, after a three-month stay, left the port of Yokohama and headed for Malaysia. There is no information about its further route, and it should be borne in mind that cruises on the ship will not be carried out until October of this year.
Diamond Princess became famous after the second largest outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus outside China was discovered among passengers and crew .
As it was found out, a Chinese citizen carried a dangerous infection on board the liner between Yokohama and Hong Kong. On the ship were almost 3.7 thousand passengers and crew from 50 countries.
Japanese authorities, fearing the spread of the coronavirus, after the Diamond Princess returned to Yokohama, put the ship in quarantine for two weeks. On the liner, 712 people got sick, and 13 died.
